Duffy Books in Homes.

St James Church has, for many years, sponsored Pakaraka School in this programme.

It is always such a pleasure to attend the "Hero Assembly" and we often help to hand out books to the very enthusiatic children.

Pakaraka is an amazing small rural school 25 ks from Kerikeri on SH 10

Kerikeri Highschool Chaplaincy

St James supports the Kerikeri High School Chaplain through prayer and financially.

mainly music

Sessions held every Tuesday in the

James Kemp Hall 10.15am.

‘mainly music’—an exciting concept for families & an exciting outreach for our church to build a relationship with children & young mothers.    it is a half hour of music and movement for preschoolers  and their care-givers  and is followed by morning tea. This is a time when the children play together and adults socialise. We have a team of about seven  to help in welcoming, with morning tea, taking  sessions and generally assisting parents by nursing babies whilst they interact with the older children.

We all enjoy being children again and love to join in singing and movement along with the children.

 Fred Hollows Foundation

A  team of people meet regularly through the week to split firewood to sell and so raise funds for the Fred Hollows Foundation. At $60 per load it is a bargin and is being supported enthusiastically by the general public of Kerikeri. Over $5000 has been raised so far this year!   To learn more about the Foundation click here
